Don’t know what to say in your thank you letter? Looking for a little inspiration?
A simple thank-you doesn’t take much time, but it can go a long way toward leaving a positive impression with sponsors. Here’s why we think you should send a thank-you letter to your sponsors:
- Their support was essential to your tournament; you should let them know that!
- It’s an opportunity to show them the visibility they got from supporting your tournament.
- The more you connect with them, the stronger your relationship will be, which can be essential to securing a lifelong supporter for your cause.
- It can be the perfect opportunity to keep the conversation going about future fundraising opportunities.
There is no one way to write a good thank you message, but here are a few things we recommend to include in yours:
- Make it personal: Thank them for their specific contribution and the role it played on the day of the tournament. It doesn’t need to be long, but it should feel clear that the thank-you is intended just for them.
- Highlight your success: Don’t forget to share how much you raised during your tournament! Your success is as positive for them as it is for you.
- Explain the effect: Share what your organization is going to be using the fundraised money for, and the impact it will have on your cause. Associating their contribution directly with your cause makes the impact feel much more personal.
- Open Communication: Make sure to leave it as an open invitation to staying connected in the future. You never know when this relationship could benefit you both again in the future!
